Currently, Plotly Studio's agentic workflow creates an entirely new session for every question a user asks. Because each session operates in isolation, users are forced to repeatedly upload or reconnect to their data for every individual query. Furthermore, there is no way to reference common connections or shared artifacts across these separate sessions. Users lack a cohesive environment where they can establish a single data connection and spin up multiple independent sessions that all interact with a shared set of assets.
This feature introduces a structured container called a "Project." A Project acts as an organizational wrapper that encompasses multiple sessions, a centralized data connection, and a repository of common artifacts, such as charts, reports, and Dash applications, all in one unified place.
Establish a Single Data Connection: Users can connect to or upload their data once at the Project level, eliminating the need to re-establish connections for every new query.
Launch Multiple Parallel Sessions: Users can spin up many separate, independent sessions within the same Project, all inheriting the primary data connection.
Share and Reference Artifacts: Users can easily access, reference, and build upon a common set of assets, including charts, reports, and Dash apps, across different sessions within the same Project environment.
